I Think I’m Doing This Wrong

So I’m new to this whole blogging thing. As soon as I started it, the first thing I wanted to do was stay organized, I felt like I had to to keep track of everything.

Well guess what? It backfired. Keeping organized and sticking to this three day a week schedule is stressing me out more than anything. When I was planning out my posts for February, I just kept moving things around, pushing reviews/posts off because I had this arc that had to go up or this tag that I was tagged in 2 months ago. Sorry to whoever tagged me in things, btw.

So, I made a decision. I’m ditching the planner.

Okay, that’s a lie. I’m keeping the planner but I’m going to be using it differently.

So this is my plan: I’m going to go with the flow. I am going to post book reviews whenever I write them/finish a book. I’m going to have a couple posts that maybe I’ll post every month like an update on what I’m reading. The TBRs and the Wrap Ups will still be on the first day and the last day of every month, that won’t change at all.

I love being organized, but when the organization starts taking the fun out of what you’re doing, it’s time for a change.

So look forward to more book reviews and a little crazier of an update schedule. I seem to be reading 20+ books a month and review at least more than half of them.

This is happening.

  2. I completely relate to this. I had such a strict schedule for myself this month, and it so quickly fell apart. I realized that I was putting so much pressure on myself and I wasn’t enjoying writing my posts anymore. I definitely agree with your go-with-the-flow ideas. It is so important to find balance and to create great content when you know you can.

All the best to you, and I hope your new schedule helps you out! šŸ™‚

Thank you! I’m excited to just review as I go. Then I won’t feel so much pressure, like you said. ā¤

I love planners, but Yeah, I had more things scratched out and moved around than I had actual plans lol

  4. You’re not alone. We’re two people running a blog but we still struggle keeping up with a certain plan. Even though we’re German. We’re totally breaking the stereotype šŸ˜€ It’s more fun to write and read blog posts that were written because you want to, not because you felt like you had to! S. xx

I agree! ā¤ I think I was making this into a job, and it definitely doesn’t need to be a job!

  5. So true! It being a hobby should be a prioritiy as long as you don’t actually make your living of it šŸ’žāœØ
