Three months after returning Magician Emery Thane’s heart to his body, Ceony Twill is well on her way to becoming a Folder. Unfortunately, not all of Ceony’s thoughts have been focused on paper magic. Though she was promised romance by a fortuity box, Ceony still hasn’t broken the teacher-student barrier with Emery, despite their growing closeness.
When a magician with a penchant for revenge believes that Ceony possesses a secret, he vows to discover it…even if it tears apart the very fabric of their magical world. After a series of attacks target Ceony and catch those she holds most dear in the crossfire, Ceony knows she must find the true limits of her powers…and keep her knowledge from falling into wayward hands.
The delightful sequel to Charlie N. Holmberg’s The Paper Magician, The Glass Magician will charm readers young and old alike.

Conclusion:
I was slightly disappointed in this one. I still definitely enjoyed my read, but it was extremely boring compared to the first one. If I have ever seen a case of second book syndrome, this one definitely has it. It was a filler book, it seems like it was literally just to move along the time line enough for the author to show what she wants to in book 3.
Although, I really love what was discovered about the magic system.
And that kiss, though…
Although the romance is very insta-lovey and literally has no development in this novel.. that kiss literally made up for everything.
I’m excited to see how everything works out in the next novel.

It’s sad when you fall in love with a book and the sequel just doesnt compare.

It’s a shame about the disappointment but I’m glad you still liked it! I’ve been meaning to read The Paper Magician since forever. It’s one of those books that just always shows up and I’ve been putting off. Maybe I’ll bump it up on my TBR!
