Q&A

Hey all,

I asked on Twitter if anyone had any questions for me and I got a few good ones! So I’m going to answer them here 🙂

(I technically did answer this one Twitter, but…)

Yes, every single day that I’m writing. Writing is so hard. I have gone through every emotion from absolutely loving my story to hating everything about it and just wanting to scrap it. I’ve asked myself ‘what the hell am I doing?’ on more than one occasion.

I’ve gone through every level of self-doubt ever. However, I have now realized that that’s a part of writing. Maybe I actually do suck at writing and no one is going to read my book, or maybe it’ll actually be decent and someone will enjoy it. Who knows.

A huge deciding factor for if I give a book 5 stars is if it feels real to me. Even if it’s set in a fantasy world, if I’m connected enough to the characters or world that it feels like it could be real, it’s an instant 5 star.

As for snacks or drinks, I don’t have anything in particular that I enjoy. I actually prefer not to eat while reading and usually end up putting my book down during that time. Drinks, well, like anyone, I like to have something boozy while I read if I’m curling up for a night in. Fireball Whiskey and Gingerale go absolutely wonderful together with a wintery read on a cold night.

The original reason why I started blogging in the first place was to have my own little place to talk about books. Why I continue blogging is because of this fantastic community that I’ve come to know and love. ❤

I don’t have a routine per se. But generally, my days go the same. During the week I work full time, so I get up (read: force myself out of bed after sleeping through every single alarm), feed the cats, eat, read/watch a show and then go to work. After work I usually make supper and then read/watch a show/write until bedtime.

On the weekends I usually get up, take care of the cats, read or write until bedtime.

I’ve said a million times that I’m the most boring person ever, that wasn’t even an exaggeration.

Oof, that’s a pretty tough one. I’m either one of those people that just plan everything in my head or I plan the hell out of everything and write lists on top of lists and then lists of my lists. There’s no inbetween. But if I was going to give any tips at all, it would be do what feels right to you.

Whether that be planning on paper or writing it on a word document… whatever you feel will help you organize your thoughts the best. If I do write things down, it’s usually in a plain book with ruled pages. That way I can just write whatever I want to.

What made me choose to write a book? My crazy over active imagination and the fact that I’m a sucker for punishment haha

I’ve always, always wanted to write a book. Since I was a little kid, I thought that it would be the best thing ever to do. I’m obsessed with reading, so I figured I’d try my hand in writing. Although, it’s wayy harder than I thought it would be.

As for someone who inspires me, honestly it would have to be Jennifer L. Armentrout. That woman is a freaking beast. She has published something like 40-45 novels in the past 7 years. Not only that, but she’s also struggling with her diminishing eyesight on top of all that. She’s actually amazing.

I hope you all enjoyed this little Q&A. If you have any questions for me, leave them in the comments and I may do another one 🙂

Until next time,

Bree
