I saw Booktosaurus post a schedule for her Blogtober and this prompt was on it. I had to give it a try. So thank you to Ellie for the great idea! Go give her a follow 🙂
The reason I wanted to do this was not to be negative, but to start a discussion. Not all books on this list are books that I rated low (I mean, plenty are, but wtv). Some of these books I regret reading because it was either completely pointless or I honestly didn’t need the mental image they left me with.
Have you ever experienced anything like this before? Let me know in the comments.
Here’s my list:
Until next time,
Bree
I couldn’t agree more twitch you with Twilight. I’ve wasted so much time on it.

Omg, Twilight and HP and the cursed child… two of the worst books I ever read. But I like the idea of this post, I have a lot of books I regret reading!

Handbook for Mortals😂 I’m still glad I didn’t do HP and the Cursed Child. I also gave up on Twilight after book 1.

I’m sure if I thought hard enough I would find some books to put on this list but none are coming to mind atm. I am curious about when/why you read Handbook For Mortals. Did you pick it up before or after the controversy? Did you know what it was going into it?

I read it when the controversy started. I knew what she did, and I was curious to see if it was as bad as people were saying. It was worse.
I read and reviewed it based off the novel itself and not the disgusting actions of the author lol

Cool. Thanks for the link to the review. I’m really curious. It was a despicable thing she did but it’s fascinating.

I’m always surprised by stuff like this. Like… if you look at the goodreads page for it, it’s nearly nothing but 1 star ratings. But not from people just one starring it, actually reviews from people reading the novel.
How could something be this bad? 🤣

I haven’t read it yet. Don’t plan on it. I appreciate you taking one for the team though ♥ Loved the review!

I regret having HAD to read some books more than I regret reading others of my own volition. Because when I chose them, it was for a reason and at least I satisfied my curiosity, even though some where ‘hate reads’ or turned out to be very disappointing.
But having to read Moby Dick? Ugh. UUGGHHH.

Yeah, i didnt include the books i had to read for school. Just the ones that were kind of pointless or left a bad taste in my mouth for the series.
School required reading was kind of awful.
