An approved textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since publication, Newt Scamander’s masterpiece has entertained wizarding families through the generations. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an indispensable introduction to the magical beasts of the Wizarding World. Scamander’s years of travel and research have created a tome of unparalleled importance. Some of the beasts will be familiar to readers of the Harry Potter books – the Hippogriff, the Basilisk, the Hungarian Horntail … Others will surprise even the most ardent amateur Magizoologist. This is an essential companion to the Harry Potter stories, and includes a new foreword from J.K. Rowling (writing as Newt Scamander) and six new beasts
During my reread of Harry Potter, I came across a Kindle version of Fantastic Beasts. The best part of this and why I decided to buy it is because this Kindle version is animated and omg does it ever make this so much better.
Being able to see a Werewolf transform, a dragon breath fire and a Hidebehind disappear and reappear was awesome.
The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and at the end of the book it shows you the stills so you can zoom in and out to your hearts content.
I would highly recommend spending the 11$ just to see the animated version, it’s totally worth it. But i can definitely understand wanting the physical book because I can only imagine how beautiful it is.
How the book is written aswell is amazing. The references to different laws and policies that have passed regarding different magical creatures is fascinating. So is the part where they pulled in Muggle sightings (like Loch Ness) pretty sure that was my favorite part.
Until next time,
Bree
