Hey All,
So I know everything has been crazy lately. I wanted to pop in and just write a post of the things I’ve been watching, listening to and reading during this quarantine.
The stress has been unbearable and to be perfectly honest, I’m not handling it all that great. It’s been better the last little while. My province is keeping strong at flattening the curve and keeping the cases way down. Though this is causing them to start making decisions about opening the province again, which I do not agree with. But hey, what can you do? My husband and I are still following the same strict quarantine measures and will be for the foreseeable future.
I’m one of the unlucky ones with pre-existing health conditions that mean if I get Covid-19, I’m in for a world of hurt. I haven’t been hospitalized since I was a child and I plan to keep it that way, thx.
So onto the list:
YouTube
JesssFam
I don’t know if anyone is interested in family vlogs, but I’ve been watching Jess since she was pregnant with her twins. All the kids are freaking cute and Jess is very entertaining.
Dungeon and Distancing
This little gem was created by Nathan Smith (NateWantsToBattle). Him and a group of streamers/musicians/content creators decided to do a Dungeons and Dragons campaign and it is pretty hilarious. I very rarely watch or am interested in D&D, but this is a good one.
Mile Higher Podcast
Kendall and Josh do a weekly podcast where they talk about true crime or conspiracies or other various interesting as hell subjects. They’re a little… new age (I think that’s how you would put it) but they’re great to watch.
Music
NateWantsToBattle
Well obviously this guy would be on the list twice. On top of having an already impressive and awesome amount of music already on YouTube/Spotify(Phantom, look up Phantom!), he is releasing a new album called Thnks Fr Mr Cvrs. Each song is being released with a full video on YouTube. It’s amazing. I’ve probably listened to his cover of Sugar, We’re Going Down at least a dozen times today.
Andie Case
Another artist I’ve spoken about a couple times on here. She did a video with Pomplamouse where they did a mash-up of Maroon 5 songs and it is amazing. Her cover of Hallelujah has also saved my sanity a few times during the craziness that is currently my job.
Dan Avidan/Ninja Sex Party
If you want to listen to songs and watch music videos by someone who is stupid adorable, you definitely have to check out Dan Avidan. What a freaking cutie! He’s recently started releasing some music which he did a collaboration with Super Guitar Brothers and it’s pretty great. Kiss From A Rose is one of the recent ones they’ve released and it’s fantastic.
Books
Crave by Tracy Wolff
Do you want the nostalgia feeling? Want to feel like your 16 and reading Twilight for the first time? Yeah, enough said.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout
I already gushed in a review about this one… so I won’t say much. But read this.
Reborn Yesterday by Tessa Bailey
Want vampires but something a little on the NA/Adult side. Grab this one.
*coming back on to edit 5 hours later to say Animal Crossing is also a thing and it’s an amazing escape!
I’ve read so much over the last couple months, even though I’m still working full time since I work from home. But books and all the things on this list has given me such an escape that I will be forever thankful for these artists/authors/content creators for giving me something to lose myself in.
Stay safe. Stay Inside. Stay Healthy. ❤
Until next time,
Bree
